Laser Hair Removal Insurance

Tailored Coverage Solutions for Laser Professionals

Why do I need Laser Hair Removal Insurance?

Running a laser hair removal business involves significant risks. These risks consist of laser burns, infection, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, equipment malfunctions, etc. Even a single mistake or miscommunication can result in a lawsuit from an unhappy client. While many companies offer business insurance, most policies do not specifically cover laser services and often explicitly exclude them. If your insurance is with one of these providers and a client sues due to a problem with a procedure, you could be left unprotected and have to cover the settlement out-of-pocket. Such costs can be substantial enough to potentially shut down your business permanently.

Yes, they can be. If they are your employees, you should have them covered under your policy and we can protect you from claims that arise from their clientele. If they are independent contractors who are working under your business name, then we can also include them. If they are working under a different business name, then they will need to obtain their own coverage and name you as an additional insured.

The cost of Laser Hair Removal Insurance can vary based on several factors. Insurance providers consider these factors when determining the premium for a policy. Here are some key factors that influence the cost of Laser & IPL insurance:

  1. Size and scope of business – The size of your business, whether you have a large spa with multiple types of operations or just 1 small suite with a 1 person operating the device can impact the insurance cost. Larger facilities that offer more services may have higher premiums due to an increased risk and liability associated with more clients coming into the spa. Also, for Laser & IPL services, pricing also factors in how many operators use the device.
  2. Types of additional services – Some services are more invasive than others which create more long-term problems if a claim were to arise. Therefore the type of services being performed may impact the insurance cost.
  3. Claims history – Insurance companies consider the claims/lawsuit history of your Laser & IPL business when determining the cost of coverage. If you have a history of claims/lawsuits, it may result in higher premiums.
  4. Safety measures and risk management practices – Insurance providers assess the safety measures and risk management practices implemented by your business. Having robust safety protocols, ensuring your employees and you are properly trained for all services being performed and regular maintenance practices can help lower insurance costs by reducing the likelihood of accidents and claims.

Definitely. The General Liability policy of the business you rent space from most likely covers only their operations and clients coming into their business. You are a separate entity since you rent a space from another business. General Liability provides peace of mind with coverage for incidents involving your clients.

If desired, we can offer you a stand-alone Laser Hair Removal insurance policy covering only the services you need.

Yes, at any time during your policy term, you can contact PPIB and request an endorsement. Additional forms and/payment may be required.

  2. Work on skin that is ulcerated, broken, not intact, blistered or has open sores.
  3. Eye area work unless an eye shield is used.
