Tailored Tattoo Insurance for Your Art's Protection

Why do I need Tattoo Insurance?

Running a tattoo business comes with inherent risks. Errors or miscommunications can result in lawsuits from unhappy customers. While many companies offer business insurance policies, most do not cover services related to tattooing. In fact they often specifically exclude them. Consequently, if a client sues over a procedure, you would be unprotected and responsible for covering the settlement out of your own pocket. Such settlements can be substantial enough to potentially force your business to close permanently.

Why choose PPIB for your Tattoo Insurance?

Our Tattoo Insurance policies offer comprehensive coverage to fill the gaps left by other policies, ensuring you are fully protected. Our policies include essential Professional Liability and General Liability coverage as well as sexual abuse coverage to guard against potential lawsuits. We also provide customizable insurance options with optional coverages to protect all aspects of your operations, such as property coverage, cyber protection, products liability, hired/non-owned auto, and more.

At PPIB, we don’t just offer customizable coverage; we tailor your policy to match the specific services you provide. If you only need coverage for tattooing, your policy can be designed to cover just that. As your business grows and offers additional services, we can add them to your policy as needed.

The cost of tattoo insurance can vary based on several factors. Insurance providers consider these factors when determining the premium for a policy. Here are some key factors that influence the cost of tattoo insurance:

  1. Size and scope of business – The size of your business, whether you have a shop or you are an individual artist can impact the insurance cost. Larger risks with more artists and offer more services may have higher premiums due to an increased risk and liability associated with more clients coming into the shop.
  2. Type of service – Some services are more invasive than others which create more long term problems if a claim were to arise. Therefore the type of services being performed may impact the insurance cost.
  3. Claims history – Insurance companies consider the claims history of your tattoo business when determining the cost of coverage. If you have a history of claims, it may result in higher premiums.
  4. Safety measures and risk management practices – Insurance providers assess the safety measures and risk management practices implemented by your business. Having robust safety protocols, ensuring your employees and you are properly trained for all services being performed and regular maintenance practices can help lower insurance costs by reducing the likelihood of accidents and claims.

Definitely. The General Liability policy of the business you rent space from most likely covers only their operations and clients coming into their business. You are a separate entity since you rent a space from another business. General Liability provide peace of mind with coverage for incidents involving your clients.

If desired, we can offer you a stand-alone tattoo insurance policy covering only the services you need.
